I also purchased the Cambridge SoundWorks FPS 4.1 system 6 years ago. I still love 'em and they're still in use. Mine are black though. Anyway, to address your question, why don't you look at the 2.1 Cambridge Soundworks selection if you like the sound of your 4.1 system? Something like On a side note, have you found any other soundcards that makes use of the single 1/8' digital out jack? I still have an old SoundBlaster Live! That it works with, but I've been considering upgrading and would like to keep it all digital.

I have a Creative Cambridge Soundworks FPS 1600 (Four Point Surround) set of speakers given to me by a friend. I have lost the volume control cable for. Comparison of the Altec Lansing Select 4100, Cambridge SoundWorks FPS1600, Creative Inspire Digital 5700 and Logitech Z-560 multimedia speaker systems.

I don't know what's a 'single 1/8' digital out jack'. They are connected to my motherboard's standard sound ports, nothing special. (though I did use them with soundblaster live! Until recently when I bought a new PC) I'm not really looking for specific speakers yet, and I don't find cambridge soundworks' speakers around my area anyway. Ga-8simlnf Rev 2.0 Drivers here.

I'm trying to find in what price range the speakers I'd buy should be, so if you can name a few speaker systems that have about the same sound quality as mine I could check what are the prices for them here. On my CSW FSB speakers, I have the option to connect with either green-black standard analog 1/8' cables or I could use the single red s-video looking cable that has an adapter that converts to a 1/8' jack that is yellow/orange. Since I've been using the same speakers for 6 years, I can't really comment on how others compare. My only advice would be to stick with what you know (Camb. SW 2.1 speakers) or go with a high quality name like,. I've heard that and make very respectable computer speaker products too so maybe you could check out some online reviews of their 2.1 offerings.
